In this their first home concert since November 2002, the
Festival welcomes the Brian Irvine Ensemble – one of
the most creative groups of musicians anywhere in the world
today. Since then, they have played concerts and festivals
in Lisbon, Porto, London, Malta, Cyprus and Dublin to great
acclaim and sell-out audiences. In 2003, Brian Irvine was
awarded ‘Best New Work’ at the BBC Jazz Awards,
a first for a Northern Irish musician/composer.
This event has been made possible by the support of the British
Council, Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the Performing
Rights Society Foundation.
