MACCHINAZIONE
THE FESTIVAL OF FOOLS GRAND OPENING CEREMONY
THURSDAY 29TH APRIL 8.00PM
OUTSIDE CASTLECOURT

Four surreal characters guide the audience on a tour to rediscover the City of Belfast through the most unusual performance ever to be seen on our streets.

An opening ceremony introduces the procession led by a strange fire spitting machine, Sputafuoco, accompanied by its whimsical creator Maestro Scintilla and ‘driven’ by Romeo Calaluna, an obstinate Don Juan with a permanent eye for the ladies.

Our Mistress of Ceremonies is renowned art critic and dance fanatic, Nicoletta Farina di Ponzio accompanied by Goffredo Battipanni, percussionist extraordinaire and supremely agile fireman.

Using theatrical machines, fireworks, acrobatics, juggling and music, Theatrenvol provide a street performance like no other – an experience which will live with you for years to come.

Based in Sardinia, Theatrenvol have brought their surreal street performances to cities across Europe for the past fifteen years and have been responsible for training many artists on the island.

Theatrenvol will perform again on Saturday evening @ 8.00 in the Cornmarket area
