The legendary Laughologist from America conjures up everything from wry smiles through to hearty laughter. For children, he has endless appeal with his innocent approach to life. For adults he has a serious message “You’re never too old to have a happy childhood”. Dr Palfi can be seen meandering the City Centre throughout the festival as well as performing the Really Dangerous Safety Show in the marquee in Writer’s Square.

Les Accousniaques – three musicians, members of a French Marching band, proceed through the streets dazed, deranged and confused as they suffer from auditory hallucinations brought about by an obsession with sound.

Genie Genetique – Fusions of man and beast are brought to life with this startling piece of street theatre. A tale of two creatures (one half human half pig, the other half human half hen) who have escaped from their creator. The resulting performance is a combination of dance, sound symphony and pure bizarre.

A compelling, stimulating and entertaining event and shows just why France is the birthplace of avant garde.
