FRIDAY
APRIL 30
THE JOHN HEWITT 8.00PM
Classic Dixieland jazz in the John Hewitt played with verve
and swagger by the peerless Panama Jazz Band.
Brass and beer make for a potent concoction that defies anyone
to remain seated. Let the charasmatic Dave McVeigh and his
team transport you to Bourbon Street in this festival special
fee event. Capacity limited so get down early.

FRIDAY APRIL 30
WHITE’S TAVERN 8.00PM
Imagine a Norah Jones only with more attitude, sex appeal
and better songs. Jacqui Dankworth is the most talked about
new talent on the British jazz circuit.
With a talent clearly inherited from her mother Cleo Laine,
Jacqui wraps her gorgeous, pure sound around imaginatively
reinterpreted songs old (Gershwin, Ellington) and new (Dylan,
James Taylor, Joni Mitchell).
This is easy listening in the best sense of the word –
the musical equivalent of a warm Radox bath.
Jacqui Dankworth might not yet shift the same amount of units
as Norah Jones, but it’s quality that matters, not quantity.
Superb.
Ticket £8.00 from the Festival office on 028 9023 2403
and Belfast Welcome Centre on 028 9024 6609
