  PRINCE BUSTER

Friday May 6 | The Marquee | 8.00pm

Jamaica’s first International superstar was not actually Bob Marley but this man, Cecil Bustamente Campbell AKA Prince Buster. So significant, in fact, that he invented a musical genre all of his own – Bluebeat.

Forget Shaggy, it was this man who cut the definitive Oh Carolina, add to that a host of other classics including Madness, One Step Beyond, Al Capone, and Rough Rider and Prince Buster is arguably the most influential of them all.

We can’t overstate the importance of this gig for all lovers of Mod, Ska and Reggae. Quite simply, be there.

“These songs still have the power to make a stadium shake.” The Guardian
