  HEATHER MACLEOD

Sunday May 1 | The Northern Whig | 3.00pm

Crossing Tides, Heather Macleod’s debut solo album, was launched with a concert at Celtic Connections in January with special guest, the legendary Danny Thompson.
To date Heather is best known from her impressive and lauded vocals for with La Boum!, Wee Free, and the Eliza Carthy Band with whom with she has toured the world. It’s her own songs that are now grabbing huge attention.

In these songs there is a strong sense of poetry, visual textures and filmic quality which have drawn comparisons to Alison Goldfrapp, Portishead and Annie Lennox.

“She’s making waves with her own song-writing and shcowcasing a unique creative identity. Painting vivid pictures with her seductively world-weary voice, Heather is definitely a performer to keep an eye on”
