This is going to be huge. The most exciting guitar prospect
since Oasis alongside Irish rock gods Wilt and one of
the finest up and coming local acts. My Vitriols
debut LP Finelines has begun to pay back the plaudits
heaped on the four-piece from early gigs and demos.
The first big single Always Your Way went top twenty and
theyve been selling out venues across the UK on
the strength of their live reputation already. Melody,
attitude and passion? All present and correct. Wilt have
a following most bands would die for. Keeping the faithful
fans from their days as Kerbdog
and adding a few along the way, their album Bastinado
is a riotous blend of catchy hooks and aggressive, belting
rock noise, which sounds even better on stage. Dont
just take our word for it. A fantastic addition to the
evening will be an acoustic set from Snow Patrol's Gary
Lightbody, providing some mellow relief to the proceedings.
The new album When It's All Over We Still Have to Clear
Up is one of the finest LP's to come from Northern Ireland
in years, so this rare stripped down performance promises
to be very special. BBC Radio Ulsters Across The
Line programme are also providing the bill with an as
yet unknown quantity, the winner of their anticipated
demo competition. 16 hopefuls will be slugging it out
during April as during the weeks before the gig, ATL will
be taking your votes on air on their website (www.bbc.co.uk/atl)
as listeners decide who will get the slot as well as an
expenses paid studio session.
