Kíla have built up an awesome reputation as one of the country’s best live acts, as anyone who has ever attended one of their gigs will testify.

Awards such as the Meteor Best Trad Act and the Hot Press Readers Poll for Best Traditional Irish Group 2002 acknowledge the power of Kíla’s live performances in Ireland in the past year and their steady growth in popularity over the last number of years.

Kíla’s music has evolved from its traditional background to a world music sound that incorporates musical traditions and rhythms from around the world.

Produced by the band’s extensive collection of unusual instruments collected on their travels, there is a depth and complexity to their music that gives it its wide appeal.

They will be releasing their next album in May 2003 which promises to see the band continue their journey across musical continents and take Traditional Irish music to its limits.
