John Carson left the Art College in Belfast in 1977. Since then he has presented his pictures, stories and songs in theatres, art galleries, music halls, pubs and parlours from Middlesborough to Muskogee, from Mayo to Melbourne. This will be his first public appearance in Belfast since leaving the city over 20 years ago. He will take us on a ramble across the years where art and life have become strangely confused. We will hear about a memorable day spent drinking a bottle of stout in every pub in Buncrana, and blistering days spent walking from Cork to Larne to see the forty shades of green. We will be invited to make a 3000 mile musical journey in 10 minutes and asked to ponder on the symbolic significance of Kebabs. In the comforting glow of a carousel slide projector bulb, we can marvel at the unpredictable mix of suprisingly true stories, crisp wit, incidental profundity and musical diversion.
