  LIZ AND YVONNE KANE   MEABH O’HARE  
 

Hailing from Connemara with a musical tradition on both sides of the family, it was only natural for the Kane girls to play music.
They began learning music from their grandfather Jimmy Mullen and have a style heavily influenced by South Sligo fiddle playing, the music of East Galway and the fiddle playing and compositions of Paddy Fahey. The sisters recently spent 3 years as part of the Sharon Shannon and The Woodchoppers’
 

Méabh O’Hare was born in Belfast in 1976. She began playing the fiddle at the age of nine taking lessons from the renowned MacPeake family then with the legendary fiddle maestro Seán Maguire. Meabh received major recognition for her ability as a musician when she was chosen as TG4’s Young Musician of the Year in 2000. She recently presented Banish Misfortune for RTE and with Dublin flute player Conor Byrne has just released the CD Ceol Bavan to ecstatic reviews
