Best known as the lead singer/pianist for the Celtic soul'n'roll band
Hothouse Flowers, Liam O'Maonlaí has enjoyed a concurrent career
as a traditional Irish musician and singer. Indeed, both aspects of
this resume come together on his two solo albums, Rian and To Be
Touched.
Much of the Flowers' appeal has been based on their passion for
and commitment to fusing their Irish heritage with rock, pop, soul,
and world music influences –a passion and commitment that has
informed most of Liam's music life.
Tonight’s Out to Lunch special performance will see multi-
instrumentalist Liam Ó Maonlaí bring us a world of sean nós
singing, dazzling rhythm, piano and soul.
