Ovven is the musical moniker of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Owen Burton. Originally cutting his teeth in the Chicago DIY scene before relocating to Nashville, Burton has quickly become a compelling new voice in the modern indie-rock landscape.
His stunning 2026 debut LP, Gnawing At The Cord, captures a raw, cinematic slice of American mid-twenties malaise. To bring the record to life, Burton teamed up with powerhouse producer Alex Farrar (celebrated for his work with MJ Lenderman, Wednesday, Snail Mail and Squirrel Flower). The result is a masterclass in dynamic contrast, marrying heavy, muscular guitar fuzz with spacious, introspective alt-country melodies. Evocative, gritty, and fiercely independent, Ovven delivers a live show that is not to be missed.
“An instant classic” (SiriusXM Outlaw Country); “compulsively relistenable” (Steven Hyden); and was produced by Alex Farrar (MJ Lenderman, Wednesday, Indigo De Souza).
