The Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival – Tough on Poetry,
Tough on the Causes of Poetry
The concept is simple. Bring your poem. Put your name and
entry fee (£1.00) into our Cup. You will be randomly
selected to read your work until the gong sounds one minute
later. The audience responds and the loudest response on the
decibelometer wins all.
The evening will be hosted by the Cathedral Quarter Artist
in Residence Kat Francois, winner of the UK Poetry Slam 2004.
The Poetry Cup has been established in association with New
Belfast Community Arts Initiative to encourage to the enlivened
performance of new local poetry.
