Patrick McCabe was born in Clones, County Monaghan, Ireland, in 1955. He is the author of seven novels, including Music on Clinton Street, Carn and The Butcher Boy which was a finalist for the Booker Prize and was made into a highly acclaimed film directed by Neil Jordan.

Neil Jordan and Pat McCabe have recently teamed up again to film Breakfast on Pluto, which also was a finalist for the Booker Prize. McCabe’s most recent novel is Call Me the Breeze, a breathtaking novel spanning Ireland’s last thirty turbulent years confirming McCabe as one of the finest and most exciting novelists writing today. He lives in Sligo with his wife and two daughters.
