OUT TO LUNCH ARTS FESTIVAL 6 -31 JANUARY 2010 / CATHEDRAL QUARTER

Grainne Duffy
Grainne Duffy
Friday January 29
The Black Box, 1.00pm

Grainne is a stunning talent from Castleblaney busy working on the follow up to her acclaimed debut Out of the Dark.

As one critic puts it ‘Grainne Duffy plays the blues like an seasoned relative of BB King or Bonnie Raitt. She’s actually a fresh-faced contender from Ireland who writes a concise song and can handle old faves like Rather Go Blind. Her battered Fender guitar has seen some serious practice and we might assume that somewhere, Rory Gallagher is smiling. My jaw dropped when I heard it’. - Stuart Bailie

“..bluesy Americana from Ireland with genuine worldwide potential. She has a husky voice and plays a mean blues guitar.” - Guitarist Magazine

“..she plays with both style and feel and is a thoughtful and melodic guitarist. Her playing is bursting with personality.” - Guitar Techniques Magazine
