OUT TO LUNCH ARTS FESTIVAL 6 -31 JANUARY 2010 / CATHEDRAL QUARTER

Brigid O’Neill
Brigid O’Neill
Friday January 22
The Black Box, 1.00pm

From Downpatrick, Co. Down, Brigid has performed on stages all over the world in groups such as Cuigear Ban, Wildflower and Deanta.

Currently performing with Jim Rainey (guitar) and Bill Johnston (double bass), Brigid has been working steadily on building up a repertoire of mainly contemporary country music (with a bit of blues- swing and folk in there too).

The result is a strong set of great songs from a range of American and Irish songwriters such as Devon Sproule, Gillian Welch, Eliza Gilkyson, Nickel Creek, Juliet Turner and Brian Houston.

The emphasis is on up-tempo, rhythmic melodic songs making great use of Jim’s strong driving guitar playing and the solid rhythmic beat of Bill’s double bass.
