Sid Griffin founded the Long Rydersback in 1981 and has been described as “rock and roll renaissance man” by both BBC Radio Two and Hotpress. When the Long Ryders disbanded Sid formed theCoal Porters, playing up-tempo folk and bluegrass. He also started alt-country heroes Western Electric whose debut album in 2000 was Mojo magazine’s Americana Album of the Month.
Sid also records and performs as a solo acoustic act and is a rock and roll archivist, a journalist, a documentary scriptwriter, and an author as well as a record producer, producing tracks for Lindisfarne, Eric Burdon, theFlying Hendersons, US indie hero Roger Weberand Kate St. Johnamongst others.
