Formed in 1992, The Bollywood Brass has created a unique blend of Hindi film hits, Bhangra rhythms and brass arrangements, with influences from jazz, other world musics, and the thriving UK dance remix scene. Offering “variety, classy arrangements and energy” The Guardian, the band combines Indian musicians with English ones, giving the Bollywood music more of a European flair and attraction. The band is Europe’s first Indian wedding brass band, and has expanded its performances to world music, street music and cultural festivals, playing in places as farflung as Canada and Australia. Michael Moll from Folkworld recently described their sound as “interesting and exciting arrangements.... The result is, as per usual, a lot of groove and wildness, along with impressive rhythms.”
