In We Need to Talk about Kevin Shriver explores the tragic possibilities of a motherhood gone awry and is inspired in part, by the author’s early-forties anguishing over whether to finally become a mother herself. In her fiction and journalism, American born and one-time Belfast resident Lionel Shriver has never shied away from contentious issues.
