inferences aside, ASIWYFA are a truly unique act in
the current pantheon of great local bands.
Instrumental, brooding and atmospheric, their
beautiful noise is set to reach an even wider
audience with the imminent release of their
eponymous debut album.
Since Fighting With Wire formed in 2003, Derry’s
finest have done what all good rock ‘n’ roll outfits
are supposed to: namely write a bunch of cracking
songs and then hit the road on tour. This blisteringly
abrasive three-piece have racked up plenty of air-
miles playing with the likes of Rueben, Biffy Clyro
and Future of the Left. Now, one album, two Radio
One sessions and over 100 gigs later, Fighting With
Wire are justifiably regarded not only as a class live
act, but also one of the most essential bands on the
local music scene.
