"We were just misunderstood Okies with an enthusiasm for recording...We have truly had a lovely and accidental career."
WAYNE COYNE, THE FLAMING LIPS

"The most intimate portrait of a band you’ll likely see. As heartwarming (and breaking) as the band’s music itself."
BILL CRANDELL, ROLLING STONE

The Flaming Lips: The Fearless Freaks The John Hewitt Sunday 30 April, 4.00pm

The Fearless Freaksis an intimate look at one of today’s most acclaimed alternative rock groups, The Flaming Lips. Filmmaker Bradley Beasley, the band’s longtime friend and music video director, gives us an insider’s look at their 20year transformation from Oklahoma outsiders to elder statesmen of the weird and wonderful.

Beesley’s long-awaited film is the result of sorting through 400 hours of tape - including never-before-seen home movie footage - representing fame and failure, breakups and breakdowns, love and loss, 11 albums, one Grammy award, one drug addiction, a lot of very loud music and good clean fun.
