FOLK ON FILM/SINGING SESSION

We trawled the archives for standout folk footage and arrived right back in Belfast with these two great curios;

Belfast Folk Festival 1985 – celebrating the glory days of the late, lamented Belfast Folk Festival this film captures many of the key players including Paul Brady, Maura O’Connell, Seamus Tansey and the great Loudon Wainwright.

Songs of Resistance – Filmed in the early 80’s,some of our finest singers and songwriters including Fergus O’Hare, Brian Moore, Joe Mulheron et al are captured in fine voice commemorating workers’ struggles across the world. Thanks to Geoff Harden for the footage. Any copyright queries, see Geoff!

The screenings are followed by the great Lagan Fleadh institution, the Sunday Singing Session hosted inevitably and inimitably by the aforementioned Joe Mulheron.
