Buy TicketsOn the heels of her critically acclaimed double-album Joan Of All, SBT (aka SarabethTucek) returns to the UK for a short-run of special acoustic shows accompanied by her long-time producer Luther Russell.
Sarabeth Tucek emerged from a decade-long hibernation away from the record business and released Joan of All worldwide in 2023 via her own imprint, Ocean Omen. Lead single “The Gift” was immediately picked up by Marc Riley on BBC 6 Music who championed the single. The adulation for Joan of All culminated in rave reviews from Uncut (9/10), Mojo (four stars ****) and more. Joan Of All became her first record to hit the UK Official Charts, making the Record Store Chart Top 20, The Indie Album Breakers Chart Top 10 and the Official Indie Albums Chart Top 30.
Sarabeth Tucek originally broke onto the music scene in 2003 performing a series of spellbinding duets with Bill Callahan on the acclaimed Smog album Supper. This was followed by an appearance in the award-winning Brian Jonestown Massacre documentary DIG!. Sarabeth’s self-titled debut album hit stores tin 2007, leading to unwavering support at the BBC and even opening for Bob Dylan. In 2011, Sarabeth followed up her extraordinary debut with the raw, uncompromising album Get Well Soon. This release made many year-end lists and the title track was featured on the first season of HBO’s Girls.
The genesis for her current return to the music scene was one magical night in Bergen, Norway in 2019. The primarily acoustic set comprised songs from her powerful back catalogue, plus two new ones which would end up on Joan Of All. Along with Luther Russell and engineer/bassist Jason Hiller, she played the set of her life, unaware it was being recorded. The audience was rapturous and the vibe in the intimate Scandinavian club was thick as a storm cloud.
Live In Norway is being released her label Ocean Omen especially for Record Store Day and features ten tracks which range from a reimagined version of her classic “Something For You” to a maiden airing of “The Living Room” and an emotionally shattering reading of her indelible “Get Well Soon”. This one’s for the fans.
Ben de la Cour
With songs that explore life’s murky corners and shadowy characters, Ben de la Cour’s music occupies the intersection between gothic Americana and dark, gritty folk.
Albums like Ben’s 2012 debut, Ghost Light and 2018’s career-shifting The High Cost of Living Strange chronicled not only that deep sense of restlessness but also his various attempts to wrestle his own vices into submission. The result is a haunting, harrowingly personal version of folk music that earned praise from outlets like American Songwriter and NPR.
This show is strictly for audiences aged 18 and over.
