| | | | In his hotly anticipated sequel to Around The World On 80 Quid, Aindrias de Staic returns with yet another amazing show about finding oneself. The Year That I Got Younger refers to the twelve months in Australia, so popular with young Irish backpackers today. For many it is “a year on the beer” but for one wild eyed, Irish fiddle player it is a coming of age story about struggling with his identity and his addictions - in particular the demon drink.
The show is sprinkled with tunes Aindrias learns along the way, played on instruments he has found, made or stolen. He relives the highs and the lows with equal intensity and his storytelling abilities never fail, nor does his unique brand of comedy, often found during his darkest hour.
This wonderful one-man show was nominated for The Malcolm Hardee Award for comic originality in performance at the Edinburgh Fringe this year. "The man’s got talent and humour in abundance... a gut-bustingly funny experience." THE SCOTSMAN | | | | | |
