By Martin Lynch.
Chronicles of Long Kesh is one of the great success
stories of local theatre. In January 2009, it played
for a sold out three-week run in the Waterfront
Studio Theatre and has subsequently been booked
for runs in London, Dublin and the Edinburgh
Festival.
This powerful but humorous story is told through
the eyes of several characters, including three IRA
men, two loyalists, two prison officers and a rich
assortment of patriots, chancers, leaders, wives,
escapers and hypochondriacs!
With great dialogue, a strong narrative, confident
yet subtle direction and outstanding performances,
it is a work of immense power.
“Uniformly superb
performances…
Lynch’s greatest feat
is to turn the political
into the personal.” CULTURE NORTHERN IRELAND
