Departs John Hewitt 12.00 noon
The Van Morrison tour of Belfast has become an established
feature of the festival, quickly selling out in the
past two years. Starting in the city centre, our bus
journey plots the early career of Belfast’s
most enduring singer, with a visit to the site of
the Maritime hotel, where Van cut his reputation with
Them, followed by a trip to the east of Belfast, where
he was born and raised.
Using some of his greatest songs as a guide, we’ll
discover the inspiration behind ‘On Hyndford
Street’, ‘Cyprus Avenue’, ‘Connswater’,
‘Orangefield’ and many more places that
have been touched by the Morrison mythology.
Your tour guide is Stuart Bailie, music journalist
and BBC Radio Ulster broadcaster.
Tickets
for the bus trip are £5, Available from the
Festival Office on 028 9023 2403
Profits from the event will go to the Ulster Cancer
Foundation. |
