| | | | | Decadence - A Unique Procession Friday 30 April, Saturday 1 May, Sunday 2 May Starts at Cotton Court 9pm Finishes in Saint Anne’s Square - 9.40pm | | | | | | | | | | | The weekend, and the frivolity of the nightlife is interrupted by a procession of mysterious white entities. Stark lamplighters come alive under the street lamps, guileful buffoons make merry with magic Chinese lanterns, a haunting white lady beguiles the crowd; a pilgrim draws the audience into the game of lamps and mirrors. Unearthly movement inhabits the space between dream and certainty. Intriguing masks combine with a powerful sound track and fixed expressions echo throughout this performance. As the procession makes its way through the Victorian streets, the audience is invited to join its progress to Saint Anne’s Square where a final performance will be given to the devoted public.
This production, brought to you by Saint Anne’s Square and the Festival of Fools, adds a new dimension to the Festival of Fools with an excursion into the late evening air with this distinguished company from St Petersburg. Presented by Mr Pejo’s Wandering Dolls (Russia). www.foolsfestival.com | | | | | | | | | | | |
