| | | | CQAF are delighted to introduce you to the 12-year- old jazz guitar sensation Andreas Varady.
Born in Slovakia, into a Hungarian Gypsy family, the exceptionally talented Andreas Varady has been playing the guitar since the age of four and is a television and festival veteran.
Although only twelve-years-old, he is already an accomplished and imaginative musician, inspired by his favourite guitarists George Benson, Wes Montgomery and Joe Pass.
Taught by his guitarist father Bandi, Andreas plays completely by ear, and since moving to Ireland with his family in 2008 has gained much experience through busking and attending Limerick’s weekly jazz workshop.
Irish drumming star David Lyttle will be featuring Andreas throughout the year, both in his own band and in his Jazz Juniors educational project, and also playing in Andreas’ quartet. | | | | | |
