  ARDAL O’HANLON

Saturday May 7 | Festival Marquee | 8.00pm

His unforgettable role in Father Ted has guaranteed him a place in comedy history to such an extent that O’Hanlon’s incredible stand-up talent has perhaps been under appreciated - until now.

It may seem like folly to abandon the idiot savant persona of Father Dougal, but the gifted O’Hanlon has successfully shed that naive innocence of his earlier stand-up to produce a razor-sharp new set.

There’s still not a shred of malice in his humour, though, just insightful and hilarious observations that never quite go where you ‘d expect them to, wrongfooting even the most cynical into laughter. Expertly plucking images and ideas from the most unlikely of places, O’Hanlon weaves a unique and imaginative routine, encrusted with comedy gems, that sets him firmly among the best stand-ups of his generation. Fantastic stuff.

Tonights support will be the great Craig Hill
