With David Baddiel, Robert Newman famously sold out Wembley Arena, Britain’s biggest ever comedy gig then in the early 90’s decided to pursue a different path as a novelist and environmental activist.

Newman has never forsaken comedy altogether however and has returned to the stage sporadically with hugely acclaimed shows fusing comedy with searing political insight.

We’re delighted Robert Newman has agreed to take part in this year’s festival
because for us he remains an icon of intelligent comedy and this show will be something special.
