In a music
industry in thrall to fads and fashion changes, The 4 of Us
stand apart, happy to let the quality of the work speak for
itself. It’s been a career of periods of quiet punctuated
by the release of albums of rare beauty and craftsmanship
- Man Alive, Songs from the Tempted, Classified Personal and
Heaven and Earth.
Some of the most
enduring Irish songs of the last two decades have come from
this band. Songs like Mary, Drag My Bad Name Down, She Hits
Me, Sunlight and U Make Me Feel have found their way into
the public consciousness making the band something of a
national treasure, an often undervalued one.
The Festival is delighted to wind up this year’s programme
with one of the finest Irish bands of the last 25 years
as they prepare to launch their fifth studio album.
Ever keen to promote great new talent where we find it,
tonight we also showcase the work of Tadhg Cooke, a brilliant
new singer songwriter from Meath and we’ll probably
throw in a few festival surprises.
