Catalyst Arts presents ‘The Spillover Room’ as part of Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival featuring new works in script, sound and moving image by artists from Vienna, Copenhagen, Dublin and Belfast.  Part video séance – part scratch comedy gig, the event features new works by duo Ectoplasmic Materialism and James Moran accompanied by a live score from a quartet of QUBe associates based in SARC.  For the event, Catalyst Arts will occupy the back room of Tivolis Barbers on North Street. Come join us for some retina-rattling audio-visual experiences.

Ectoplasmic Materialism

A techno-séance in and with dead labour and some disembodied waveforms. Ectoplasmic Materialism is an amalgamation of energies and apparitions that currently work as punctuation managers and sometimes translators; as care workers and artist’s assistants; and as non/emerging and submerging artists in Vienna and København.

James Moran

James Moran, topical chat show host, brings his show, the Good Evening Show, to Belfast City. Come join him as he dissects the news and current affairs.

QUBe

The night will also feature live improvisations from a quartet of musicians from Queens University Belfast Ensemble @ SARC; James Cunningham, Ryan Watt, Joshua Eimer, Patrick Moore.
