In association with Moving on Music

Mercury Prize nominated critically acclaimed folk singer Sam Lee, live in concert. London born and bred Sam has journeyed intrepidly throughout the British Isles and Ireland seeking out and recording ancient songs from the last of the Gypsy travellers. The result is new interpretations of traditional song infused with vital new energy.

His latest album Fade In Time goes even further encompassing world-wide traditions, from Japanese court music to Tajikistan wedding marches, all alongside traditional British folksong.

Sam Lee burst onto the music scene in 2012 with his aptly named debut album, Ground of its Own. This startlingly original work garnered instant acclaim, an Album of the Year nomination from the prestigious Mercury Music Prize, 3 x BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominations and was awarded fRoots Magazine Album of the Year.

This promises to be an exceptional night of exciting and evocative folk music.

‘Lee’s baritone vocals are supple rather than wild, delivering time-honoured tales of love, estrangement and betrayal with engaging intimacy.’ – THE OBSERVER
