Painted Bird in collaboration with artist Neil O’Driscoll, bring Seamus Heaney’s first collection of poems Death of a Naturalist to life, through live drawing, animation, audio soundscape and live performance.
Originally commissioned by the new Seamus Heaney Homeplace in Bellaghy, on this the 50th anniversary of Heaney’s first collection, director Fiona McGeown, has created an experience rooted in the exploration of innocence and childhood and one that transports the audience back in time, to an Ireland of ticking clocks and whistling kettles.
